Dr. Brandon Z. Massey is a board-certified plastic surgeon specializing in surgery of the hand and wrist. Dr. Massey specializes in all aspects of hand and wrist surgery, such as traumatic and repetitive conditions. He is very actively involved in treating patients at both Tucson Medical Center and Carondelet St. Joseph’s Hospital; and holds privileges at both hospitals. In addition, though he has maintained a busy and thriving private practice since his arrival back to Tucson in 2006, he continues to be actively involved in the orthopedic hand surgery program at Banner University Medical Center, where he encounters and treats a wide variety of complex hand surgical conditions and traumatic injuries. Dr. Massey greatly enjoys his office and outpatient hand surgical practice, but he also values the breadth and complexity of patients he encounters through maintaining an engaging hospital-based practice, as well.

Dr. Massey has been awarded the certificate of added qualification in Surgery of the Hand by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. He is an active member of the American Society for Surgery of the Hand. He is the director of Hand Surgery at Camp Lowell Surgery Center, one of the very busiest outpatient surgical centers in Arizona; and he is also active in leadership there by sitting on the medical executive committee. He was formerly the Chief of the Section of Plastic Surgery at Tucson Medical Center.

Dr. Massey completed his residency in plastic and reconstructive surgery at Saint Louis University. Following that, he completed a fellowship in orthopedic hand surgery at SUNY-Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, New York. He attended medical school at Saint Louis University after completing undergraduate degrees in both molecular and cellular biology; as well as ecology and evolutionary biology at the University of Arizona.

He is a native of the southwestern United States, growing up in the Phoenix area. He was delighted to return to Tucson after completing his training, where he enjoys watching his four children grow up.

Dr. Massey is now also available in Rita Ranch the 3rd Thursday of each month 8:00 am – 12:00 pm
