Jon K. Nisbet, MD

Dr. Nisbet is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon specializing in knee and shoulder injuries and reconstruction, arthroscopic surgery and sports medicine. He arrived in Tucson for the first time in 1983 for general surgery internship at the University of Arizona after completing medical school at University of California, Los Angeles School of Medicine. He went on to complete orthopedic residency at University of California, San Francisco and then fellowship training in Arthroscopy and Sports Medicine at the Orthopedic Specialty Hospital in Salt Lake City.

Dr. Nisbet has been a Clinical Assistant Professor of Orthopedic Surgery at the University of Arizona since 1991, where he is active in the education of residents and fellows, serves as the orthopedic consultant to the Campus Health Center and as orthopedic team physician for the University of Arizona Athletic Department. He has been team physician for the Tucson Sidewinders AAA baseball team, the Arizona Diamondbacks during their years of spring training in Tucson, the Tucson Roadrunners Hockey team, the Sabino High school football team and community events such as the Fiesta de los Vaqueros and the Fort Lowell Shootout.

Dr. Nisbet is a fellow in the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, the Arizona delegate for the American Orthopaedic Society for Sport Medicine, and a member and instructor for the Arthroscopy Association of North America, and is a member of the Arizona Orthopaedic Society. With any remaining free time, Dr. Nisbet dotes on his three children and spends time hiking with his wife in the southwest mountains.
